The book Slavic and Greek Manuscripts in the Regional History Museum – Lovech, authored by Prof. Boryana Hristova, Prof. Iskra Hristova-Shomova, PhD, and Prof. Elizaveta Musakova, PhD, was presented to the public on May 22, 2023, at the Lovech Community Center "Science – 1870." The publication is in Bulgarian and English and is the result of research conducted under the project "Establishment and Development of the Center for Excellence "Heritage BG," funded by the Operational Program "Science and Education for Smart Growth" and with the support of the Municipality of Lovech.
At the presentation, the mayor of Lovech, Ms. Cornelia Marinova, said: "I remember how, in 2018, when we signed the partnership agreement, we talked about the possibility of publishing the manuscripts stored at the Regional Museum of History in Lovech in a book. I am delighted that today we have this impressive result. Because I understand that this book is now in 40 countries and they will learn about our literary wealth."
The 23 manuscripts in Slavic and 4 in Greek stored at the Regional Museum in Lovech have now been described in detail, photographed, and cataloged in the publication of the Center for Cultural Heritage "Nasledstvo BG." The earliest manuscript is Osmoglaznik, dated to the middle of the 13th century. Some of the literary monuments show connections with other Bulgarian writing centers from different eras. Most of them were created in Lovech by local writers, which speaks of a vibrant and enduring tradition, as well as a rich literary life.

Before the presentation of the book "Slavic and Greek Manuscripts in the Regional History Museum - Lovech," representatives of the Heritage BG Cultural Foundation were received by the mayor of Lovech, Ms. Cornelia Marinova. A fruitful dialogue was held on the joint cooperation agreement between the Cultural Foundation and the Municipality of Lovech, as well as on the prospects for joint projects in 2023.
