
On December 8, 2023, on the day of St. Clement of Ohrid, a national holiday in the Republic of North Macedonia, the exhibition "European Ethnic Cartography of Macedonia – Mid-19th Century to the Balkan Wars" was opened in the exhibition hall of the Bulgarian Cultural and Information Center in Skopje.
The exhibition, prepared by the Heritage BG Center in cooperation with GEOPAN, consists of about 40 panels with over 70 ethnic maps, compiled by some of the best specialists in ethnology and cartography of the period.
The exhibition was opened with introductory remarks by the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Angel Angelov, and a short report by Prof. Ivan Ilchev, head of the Heritage BG Center, in the presence of dozens of public figures from North Macedonia. It will be open until the Christmas holidays and will then be shown in other Bulgarian and European cities.
