
On September 16, 2023, a round table discussion on "The Healthy Waters of Bulgaria: Economic and Social Benefits" was held in Sapareva Banya (Hotel 103 View Park), organized by the Center for Public Policy "Heritage BG" through its partner NAS "V. Levski" and business partners.
The round table was attended by the regional governor of Kyustendil, the mayor of Sapareva Banya, the mayor of Kameno, representatives of the Ministry of Interior, business representatives, researchers from the Heritage BG Center, and lecturers from the V. Levski National Sports Academy. The main topics discussed by the participants in the round table were as follows:

• The perspective of local authorities. Opportunities and barriers to achieving economic and social benefits from healthy waters in Bulgaria.
• The perspective of medical professionals. Is it possible for Bulgaria's water resources to become a source of "health for the healthy" rather than just an opportunity to "treat the sick"?
The Vice-Rector of the NSA presented the Mayor of Sapareva Banya with a contract for joint cooperation in the training of young specialists for the needs of spa tourism. At the end of the round table, the results of a study on "The social and economic potential of mineral waters in Bulgaria" were presented.
