
On October 27 (Wednesday) at 10:00 a.m., the international scientific conference "The Path of Cyril and Methodius – Spatial and Cultural-Historical Dimensions" opened, organized by the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Center at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (CMRC). The opening session took place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Library Hall of the Intercontinental Hotel in Sofia. The conference lasted three days (until October 29) and was attended by 40 researchers from Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
The scientific event was funded by the KMRC "Cyrilomethodicon" project, which is part of project BG05M2OP001-1.001-0001 "Establishment and Development of the Center for Excellence "Heritage BG," activity B).
The scientific conference is part of the activities of the EU-certified European Cultural Route "St. Cyril and Methodius," which aims to integrate interest in Cyril and Methodius issues in science, culture, and business into a pan-European perspective.
The official opening ceremony featured speeches by Mr. Stefano Dominioni, Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes and Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Culture, and Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria, and others.
