
On February 17, 2020, at the building located at 6A Moskovska Street (Sofia, the former Royal Palace) The Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with the Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IEFEM) launched construction and renovation work on three laboratories at the "Heritage BG" Center:
• Digital Ethnographic Archive” Laboratory,
• Laboratory for the Digitization of Movable Cultural Heritage,
• Laboratory for the Digitization of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Assoc. Prof. Petko Hristov, Ph.D., former director of IEEM, shared what has been accomplished over the past three years to reach this so-called “groundbreaking” milestone. He also discussed the importance of the laboratories for the future of IEEM.

The event was attended by researchers from the institute, partners in project BG05M2OP001-1.001-0001, and members of the management team. The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Academician Julian Revalski, Ph.D., congratulated the attendees on the results achieved so far, highlighted the importance of the new infrastructure for promoting Bulgarian heritage, and wished the initiatives continued success.
