On January 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the building located at 6 Acad. Georgi Bonchev St. Block 6 (Sofia), a groundbreaking ceremony was held to mark the start of construction and installation works for the “Laboratory for an Interactive Map of the Arts in Bulgaria” as part of Project No. BG05M2OP001-1.001-0001 “Establishment and Development of the Center of Excellence ‘Heritage BG’,” funded under the Operational Program “Science and Education for Smart Growth” 2014-2020, Priority Axis 1 “Scientific Research and Technological Development,” co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).”
The work will be carried out over a period of 180 days by Devor Ltd. in premises managed by the Institute for Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
Following the renovation work and the delivery of equipment, the “Interactive Map of the Arts in Bulgaria” Laboratory will be established on the premises. In the laboratory, teams from the Institute for Art Studies will carry out projects related to the processing, digitization, virtualization, and preservation of objects from Bulgaria’s cultural heritage.
