"Heritage BG" Contest / 2020 Question No. 2

By a 1984 UNESCO resolution, April 18 is designated as International Day for Monuments and Sites. In honor of this day, we are launching the "Heritage BG" visual quiz. Every day through the end of April, we will post one question on our Facebook page. Along with the question, we’ll feature artifacts, museum exhibits, interesting historical events, and buildings. The winners of the visual quiz will be determined based on their answers to the 12 questions, and the winners will be announced on May 24. The prize pool includes book vouchers.

Question No. 2:

Below you can see a manuscript from the collection of the Church Historical and Archival Institute of the Bulgarian Patriarchate. It is the work of the prolific scribe, Teacher Todor Pirdopski, who depicted the death of St. Ignatius the God-Bearer, the first holy father and teacher of the Church.  Daskal Todor painted the beasts that tore the saint apart as he imagined them, because he had never seen them.
