On May 11, 2020, the director of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (BAS), Prof. Dr. Emanuel Mutafov, in compliance with security requirements, signed four contracts for the execution of public procurement under the project BG05M2OP001-1.001-0001 “Establishment and Development of the Center of Excellence ‘Heritage BG’ under the Operational Program ‘Science and Education for Smart Growth’.” Smart Soft Ltd. will supply and provide warranty maintenance for computer hardware and peripherals, scanners, photographic equipment, video and audio equipment with a total value of 73,950.00 leva excluding VAT, while Almar Co. Ltd. will provide and maintain audio equipment and related accessories worth 22,859.87 leva excluding VAT. ATS-Bulgaria Ltd. will supply two high-tech scanners for negatives and slide films for 12,270 BGN excluding VAT, while specialized photographic equipment and its accessories will be provided for 38,300 BGN excluding VAT by Foto Sintezis EOOD. The equipment is necessary for the ongoing work of the researchers and staff at the National Center for Cultural Heritage Studies (NCCHS) at the Institute of Art Studies (BAS) and will specifically support the activities of the project “Interactive Map of the Arts in Bulgaria,” led by Prof. Dr. Goritsa Naydenova.

May the holy brothers, equal to the apostles, protect us and bring to their senses the enemies of our language, education, and history! Language is a fundamental factor in shaping national identity, along with religion, shared territory, kinship ties, culture, and a common past. Regardless of later dialectal forms and biased interventions driven by political orientation, our nation remains inextricably linked to the word, recorded in the letters of Cyril and Methodius and the writings of their disciples in medieval Bulgaria.
