Bulgarian royal blood in the heart of Constantinople!?
The lecture is dedicated to the upcoming feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture, and Slavic literature. It will take place on May 20, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. in Hall 1 of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski."
Prof. Emanuel Mutafov will present interesting facts from his monograph "The Virgin Mary, Receptacle of the Inconceivable. Human Dimensions of Palaiologos Art in Constantinople." The monograph was published in 2020 as part of the scientific activities of project BG05M2OP001-1.001-0001 "Establishment and Development of the Center for Excellence "Heritage BG."
Prof. Emanuel Mutafov is the director of the Institute for Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the coordinator for research and development on the project.
