On May 17, 2021, with a lecture by Prof. Alexander Kostov, "The Emergence of the Modern Engineering Profession in the Balkans," the first course for improving the professional qualifications of those working in the field of engineering was completed. The course is developed as part of the project "Establishment and Development of a Center for Excellence Heritage BG,"
Scientists from the Institute of Balkan Studies with the Center for Thracology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences spent two months training employees at the Regional History Museum in Montana, introducing them to new research approaches, the opportunities that the digitization of cultural and historical heritage opens up for them as scholars, and, last but not least, they familiarized them with controversial topics from recent years.
Over the next five months, the course will be implemented among employees at the Historical Museum in Lom, the Historical Museum in Chiprovtsi, the Regional Historical Museum in Sandanski, the Historical Museum in Petrich, and the Regional Historical Museum in Silistra.
